Description: Participants will view short video clips & slides that review the importance of fresh school food for student health, learning, behavior, and long life. They will join discussions on how to easily incorporate the subject of nutritious food, using simple hands-on gardening techniques and classroom projects, into their curriculum no matter what the field. Join us to find out how the subject of fresh food and food systems meets CT standards, fits with current curriculum and is easily integrated into all subject areas and grade levels. Tour the Staples H.S. edible garden (optional). A garden at your school or gardening experience is not required. Educators will walk away with models and lesson plans, resources, connections and ideally the inspiration to make a difference at their schools.
