It's quite a shock to see how high gas prices soar in England. It was over one pound per liter, a liter being about one quart...so...Jim calculated the equivalent price in the NY Metro area would be over $7 per gallon!!! So as bad as things get with oil prices in the States, it's traditionally been much higher in Europe and around the world - that's why they drive much smaller cars.
OTHER THINGS YOU DON'T SEE IN NY
The sun going down at 10 pm (and people eating dinner at that hour).
People calling it a heat wave when it's a beautiful 80 degrees Farenheit.
Headlines in the Sunday Times: Tony Blair: My Cunning Plan to Save the World.
Watching the Wimbledon Games in England and people glad the Swiss tennis champion Roger Federer beat Andy Roddick ! (It's true - they were BOTH so amazing.)
A party on the 4th of July with no American flag, hamburger barbeque or fireworks.
