A Chef, a Child and Angry Moms Agree: School Food is Hard to Swallow
The video features Amy Kalafa and the Fair Food steering committee, which consists of four graduates of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a chef. They talk about why school food is hard to swallow, and what to do about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW1U_bT43is.
Fair Food in Fairfield County Schools was founded by Amy Kalafa, who produced the film, Two Angry Moms after years of research on the poor nutritional value of most current school food. Her vision is to obtain large amounts of funding from the National Institute for Health and the School Based Initiatives to Prevent Childhood Obesity in order to improve school food in the entire county of Fairfield, which will serve as a national model. Fair Food is developing media based training tools to improve the nutrition and health of families and communities across the entire country.
